#1. This sign alerts you to:
Two-way Traffic. The sign tells you that you are leaving a separated one-way highway and will soon be driving on a two-way highway. The sign may also be posted along such a highway.

Merging traffic sign. Traffic from the right is merging onto the main roadway.
#3. A round traffic sign alerts you to:
A round yellow warning sign with an X symbol and black RR letters is placed along the road before you get to a railroad crossing.
#4. This sign means:
No Right Turn. You cannot make a right turn at this intersection. Remember that a red circle with a slash means no. The sign shows you what is not allowed.
#5. A flashing yellow traffic light means:
A flashing yellow traffic light means slow down and proceed with caution. You are not required to stop.
#6. What does this warning sign mean?
Divided highway ends. The divided highway on which you are traveling ends ahead. You will then be on an undivided roadway with two-way traffic. Keep to the right.
#7. This road sign means:
Lane ends or road narrows. There will be fewer lanes ahead. Traffic must merge left. Drivers in the left lane should allow others to merge smoothly.
#8. A flashing red light means the same as:
A flashing red traffic light means the same as a stop sign. You must come to a full stop and then may proceed when it is safe to do so.
#9. This sign warns you of:
Left curve. The roadway curves left ahead.
#10. This road sign means:
No U-turn. You cannot turn around to go in the opposite direction at this intersection.
#11. This sign means:
Incline or Hill. The sign warns you of hills where special care must be taken. Slow down before you start downhill.
#12. What does this sign mean?
Slippery when wet. This section of highway is more slippery than other roads when wet. Reduce your speed.
#13. This sign means:
Cross Road (Intersection).
#14. This sign means:
Deer Crossing. This sign alert drivers in advance of areas where wild animals may be crossing. Remember, yellow signs are warning signs, not guide signs.
#15. What does this road sign mean?
Traffic signal ahead. Slow down and be prepared to stop, if necessary.
Learner’s Practice for the Washington Test
The driver’s exam in Washington state is a multiple-choice test with 40 questions and a passing score of 80 percent. To pass, you must correctly answer at least 32 questions.
Some of the test questions will focus on common road signs and traffic signals.
